For secondary research I started looking at stories about cats and found a website that has different articles about the top 20 cat stories of 2012.

Top 20 Amazing cat stories of 2012 (31 december 2012)

Here there are stories about a cat called Rupert who is larger than an average sized cat. Another story is about a man who finds a cat while on his 12 mile walk.
This picture was taken from a Japanese photographer called Fubirai who took pictures of cats on Furuoka Island near Japan. This website helped me out because it told me a lot about how humans help cats out but them not realising that they have helped thier owner out a lot more. It just shows how well cats and humans can get along. Even though dogs are said to be mans best friend cats are family and will love you for as long as they live.

This cat was feral but Celia helped it become suitable to be owned. Celia had to deal with some tough things in her life and if it wasn't for Tilly giving her determination that if she can help a feral cat become a softie she can get through the tough times.  Even though cats don't know it sometimes they need us to survive. A man went on holiday to the south of Italy and found a kitten crying with all its might so he decided to take it to his lodge and look after it while he was on holiday. When he found it he knew that the legs weren't okay her mouth was asymetrical and was impossible to close. When he went to the vets they said that she could not open his eyes because she was young but also because a disease ate the eyeballs and thought she was to weak to survive. The following days they helped treat her ear and eye disease intestine worms and fever. They fed her powder milk every four hours and taught her to understand where she was going by clapping their hands in a certain direction. as they had to leave he decided to take the kitten home with him and they have lived happily ever after.

They named her Skunky. This is her when she was a kitten.

This is her now.
This shows that every cat can be saved no mater how week they are. If people are willing to give all their love and determination to their pets they can overcome anything.

What do cats think about us? You may be surprised (By Christine Dell'amore January 27, 2014)

This information gives you an insight into what we think of our cats and how they percieve us. John Bradshaw who has wrote a book called Cat Sense and is asked questions about his view on cats. After analysing cats for several years he has come to a conclusion that cats don't understand us the way dogs do. What he says that owners of cats don't understand is how stressed pet cats can be and how we can stress them out. He also is asked a few questions from cat owners on facebook. They are interseted in finding out why cats do certain things they do like why they yowl when you are in another room, why they knead on us and whether you are able to train your cat. Personnaly I think cats are very different from dogs and will always be compared to them because cats are independent and dogs are socialable. I think that you can relate both pets to humans because we can be socialable and indepent and you could say cats and dogs are two different types of human because they only do one or the other not both like we do.

Dogs now more popular than cats in Britian (Monday 4th April 2011)
In 2011 they researched whether cats are more popular than dogs and it turns out that dogs are more popular in the household. As this information is from 2011 the results could have changed. What I have found out by looking at this information is that fish are more popular than both pets. What I have found out recently thoguh is that people own both dogs and cats. My aunti and uncle have a dog and a cat. My friend has two dogs and one cat.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_cat_breeds
On Wikipedia it shows that there are about 80 different breeds of cats. I think it is very hard to define what breed your cat is because some of them look very similar. I didn't think that there were this many breeds of cats but I guess some cats are crossbreed which means there are always new ones being created. You also have a miss comunication with other countries because they may call a breed a different name compared to what you call it. My favourite breeds are Egyptian Mau, Dragon Li, Munchkin and Norwegian Forest Cat. Out of 90 only 30 are natural, 11 are mutations, 22 are crossbreeds, 17 are unknown and 10 are a mix. This shows that there are only 8 more natural cats then crossbreeds.

Secondary Research: Cat videos

This cat video is showing how much cats can give love. It also shows that even though some people say that cats don't like other cats it shows them getting along. I got this clip off youtube and one thing that people love to watch videos of it cats.

This shows that cats just go to homes for food but I disagree with this as I am a cat owner I know that my cat mises me when I go away because she doesn't eat properly according to them person who looks after her. What I don't like about this is that they compare cats to dogs and humans and even though in some ways they are a like. One thing we do know about cats is that they are more independent and baby's and dogs are more socialable then cats are, so when a a cat owner leaves the house it depends how long they leave that cats start to get worried because they are used to the usual rotor.

  1. Excellent level of detail in the research Lauren.

You have used lots of sources and presented your findings well. Distinctions achieved. You need to add your releases to get the U27 GC2 mark so upload that ASAP.
